I like magic button... there is also wizbar and those things. However they might want you to tap and hold to quit instead of just just tap X to close.

pocket plus is great cuz u can customize the X button with three different functions:

tap
tap and slide a little
tap and hold

i've got mine set up so that a tap minimizes the program
tap and slide closes it
tap and hold opens up an option window (like switcher bar) that lets u switch between programs, close one, close all, or other options

plus it's got tons of other features they make it great
Textmaker, Dynamo, pPod, Pocketnes, Pocketsnes, MemMaid, Spd Pocket Plus, PocketMVP, Voice Command, Ostia, Agile Messenger, Pocket Mechanic, Pocket Slides, etc

Thinkoutside BT Mouse and Keyboard (MUST HAVES if you use it for large data entry/notetaking)
SD GPS
2 gb CF

Here is a selection of the free ones, I use WIS Bar - vBar 1.7 It is small efficent and free. I tried magic button at first, Since then I don't have to do so many soft resets with vBar.

Another vote for WisBar Advance 2.
VGA compatible, GREAT customer support, and you get a cascading Start Menu as well.

WisBar Advance is very great, but sadly, it make my Axim unstable (have to reset 2 or 3 time by day)

Have you tried the latest version (released yesterday, 06/10/05)?
It seems to be working for most people.
I know it is for me.
