BatMemTime, UpTime Monitor, and then there's BatteryWatch which will give you an icon in the System Tray (Bottom Bar). All of these freeware apps and more can be downloaded at snapfiles.

Light weight power and memory indicator.

PowerStatus is a very small and light weight application. The best part about it that I like is that it doesn't take much screen display resource and yet always available. It can be downloaded from here.

However, since it is an exe running in it's own process, it takes some precious resource from the OS. As the source code is available for download as well, I took the liberty and modified it so it runs as a "service" thread under the system service.exe process. In my version, I split the memory bar in program memory (left side) and storage memory (right side).

The binary code is attached if you are interested to try. I haven't got the chance to write an installer, so you need to copy the dll to "\windows" directory and import the registry file from PHM regedit program.

Please let me know if you like it or if you have any improvement suggestions.

Cheers,
Dogfood

There's also the little battery meter with MagicButton...don't forget about it, too!

Dogfood. Nice improvement on powerstatus. Could you post the original source to powerstatus.exe? I want to use it as the starting point for an open source app. - Claeton

Re:

I used Notebook BatteryInfo, it is able to display a battery symbol panel left beside the Taskbar Icon area. Notebook BatteryInfo also reads out all values of the battery.

I loved BatMemTime on my X5, but it is acting up on X51v. It is unstable.
I tried K Battery, which stays RIGHT below or top of switcher, so it is no good.
So, I think I am going to be using this one:
pwrstat on PocketGear.com

If anyone else have a better freeware, please post.
Thanks.

Batti is my favorite. Been using it since I got my PDA a year ago. No problems at all with it and it's highly configurable while taking barely any resources or memory to run. My favorite thing about it is that my battery status is always visible in all programs- no need to click anything- just glance at the top bar to see how much battery life is left.

Does BATTI change color when the battery is low?

That's how I have mine set. It's been so long ago that I installed it I can't remember if it's set up that way from the start or not. I think it is. You can change the color of the bar, the height, the spacing of the segments, what color it is when charging or on battery power and at different levels or however you want. Like I said, it's highly configurable and uses virtually no resources or memory, at least on my x51v, it doesn't. I've tried Magic button and others, but this one is hands down the best as far as I'm concerned.

Actually all you need to do is to check out the link I provided and look at all of the screenshots to see what this thing can do.

I'll second the recommendation for Batti - always there, but unobtrusive. Yes, it definitely can change colors, and the ones you select!
