need help vpn!!!
Hello,
I am new here and I hope I've posted in the right place! I've got the following problem: I am trying to access the network of the university, where I am studying, through my Dell Axim X50v. To access the network, I have to use a VPN client which permits to use a "group authentification" and uses a IPsec thing over the Cisco2000 protocol. Roughly it works like follows: In the client setup I specify a username and a password for the group authentification. This username and password are the sam for all the user of the network. Then there are some other options for the encryption, which i know from the homepage of the university. When the client is set up, I establish a connection with the network, and then I have to enter my personal username and password. Only after this, I can begin to use the connection. Because the VPN-possibilities provided with the Windows Mobile 2003 of my X50v are limited, I can't use them to establish the connection. So I have to use the Certicom Movian VPN client provided by the university. Now my X50v has lots of problems with that client: *when using the earlier versions of the Movian client my Axim gets crazy, and some features like ActiveSync or the WLAN connections are disturbed and won't work any longer. *when using the latest version of the Movian client, there are are no conflicts with other programs, but the client itself doesn't behave like it should. So I setup the software correctly, I even get a connection to the network, and when I enter my personal username and password I even get the message: "You are now connected to the RHRK network". Great, but I can't use the connection!!! As soon as I get the Message I mentioned before, I get an error saying, that there is something worng with IPsec (that the IPsec driver wasn't loaded), but when I tap on the dropdown list which show the activated driver, there is a tick next to "IPsec", so everything should be fine. But when I try to access the network, there is no connectivity, although the signal strentgh recieved by my Pda is ok. when i connect with my notebook using the cisco vpn client there is no problem, i got connected, and thats it! But there is no way till yet to get the pda connected over the vpn connection! Now, does someone knows a solution for this problem? Are there alternative vpn client which offer the same possibilities as the movian Client? Are there known issues between the X50v and this Certicon software? What am I doing wrong? Please help me, I am desperate ;-( | |||||
