Question Sprite Backup

Hi all,
I keep hearing about Sprite Backup. Can someone tell me what makes it better than what ActiveSync already comes with? Sprite is $30 so I want to be sure I know what I'm getting (btw, any coupons out there???)
Thanks,
~ecleader

There are tons of threads on sprite that you should check out. Not only does it back up your system, it also gives you info on your today screen about memory, battery power and other relevant stuff. If you are away from your computer and have a crash you can recover right on the spot with this backup. Also, you can schedule backups like once per week or once per day. You can back up everything or just select some items. You can back up all your settings as well as docs. It blows away the standard backup utility.

Just b/f I bought my ax I had a major crash w/my toshiba. I had a backup that was a couple months old b/c I didn't know about sprite. I lost 2 months worth of info. This more than pays for itself. It gives peace of mind as well.

No it doesn't.
This was a feature of "PocketMon" which has been discontinued and is no longer included.

With ActiveSync you still have to reinstall all your programs- even those in BIS/SD/CF.

Do a search for handango discount. There is a 20% off coupon floating around that I just used earlier this week.

gjw, you're correct about pocketmon. How did I get pocketmon? Did it come w/sprite when I bought it? I really am glad I have it.

Yes, PocketMon is bundled with Sprite software. I also got this PocketMon tool but I have been having troubles with PocketMon and PocketWeather working together. So I had to uninstall PocketMon and then everything works fine.

When I checked out Sprite's forum they have mentioned that PocketMon has way too many problems, especially on a VGA PPC. So for future releases, they will not be giving out PocketMon anymore. They believe that the code changes that they need to do on PocketMon to resolve all its problems is way too much and that it is not viable. So if you like PocketMon, hold on to it, you might not be getting it from the next release onwards.
X50v (A03), Dell's 2200 mAh battery, Brando Ultra Clear Screen Protector, SanDisk 1GB SD Card, Kingston 2GB Elite Pro CF Card.
Sprite Backup, SBSH's Pocket Breeze, Contact Breeze, iLauncher and Pocket Weather.

Hi Kris,
I searched high and low for a current coupon to no avail. Any idea of where you saw it?

Thanks for setting me straight... some people said it was no longer there.. and it's been moved to a rather dusty looking bit of their support site
