Favorite Freebies
Hey fellas these are my favorite freebie Utility Software programs:

1) PHM Task Manager

- lets you see all the activity currently going on with your PPC, even thigsn that dont show up in the "memory" area of the settings:

2) PHM Device Manager

- have you ever wants a device manager like the windows style one?

3)
PHM Registry Editor

- its free and its veyr useful but its for advanced users, backup and experiance suggested!

more PHM stuff here

4) Where Is My RAM?

- find out where your memory is being used up, free up space!

5) Shutdown

- simple and nice, english version is avaliable

6) tAgenda

- lets you display info on your today screen in a small area, very customizible if you dont like that checkered look, like I don't.

Well fellas thats I can think of for right now, hope you find some of that stuff helpful. Rememer this is a freebie area I use some different programs to do the same things as above, some with more options but you have to pay for that. Please feel free to add your favorite freebie useful / utility apps.

Later!

Great idea for a thread. I'd like to add a couple I use. Maybe I'll think of more later, but these are the most useful to me.

1. ICBAR - for closing (not just minimizing) applications, task switching and general utility.
http://Icbar.ictinus.com

2. LAUNCHER - for getting more icons on the Today screen.

I'm curious ... why do you guys use this instead of Dell's Switcher Bar?

Icbar allows much more than just being able to close and switch apps. Although it closes apps much better....because with Icbar, when you hit the 'X' button (top-right), it FULLY CLOSES the program. With Dell switcher, you have to pull down the drop down menu, pull the program you want to close to the top, and "close current program". With Icbar, it has an 'X' on the drop-down menu next to each program, so no need to pull it to the top.

But the main functionality other than this, is the ability to skin the task bar (start bar).....and with the newest v1.1, you can even skin the menu bar (bottom of screen). You can assign things like battery meters, memory meters, etc....and can also assign custom buttons (like Home, Volume, Power Off) to be on the task bar. Many people choose an XP-styled skin. Here is a screenshot of mine to show you what I mean:

I just had to post that I installed the IcBar yesterday and I love it!

I personally think it looks graphically wonderful and it does have some pretty good application to it. I definitely give this app 2 thumbs up. So far, it's the best program I've put on my handheld yet.

Just thought I'd share this with those of you using Icbar. If you're using the Silver XP theme, I made a power button to go along with it. I hope you guys at Aximsite don't mind that I borrowed the image from the sites logo. But it looks cool in Icbar as the on screen power button.

No. This is from the download page for Icbar;

To install Icbar, download the .CAB file to your PC and transfer it to your PDA, then pick up your PDA and execute the .CAB file from your PDA's File Explorer.

acsurfer, the file for Icbar that you downloaded is a self-extracting .CAB file. Just use ActiveSync's file explorer to copy the file directly to your Axim. Then use the Axim's File Explorer to find the .CAB file and tap on it and it will self-install.

A funny thing, I never noticed that Icbar allowed you to assign a "power off" button. I was previously using SideX for that function becasue I liked having a "soft" power button always on my screen. Thanks to this site, I have once again found another useful tip.

Thanks everyone for making this the best PPC community online today!!!
