Weird experience with Sprite Backup
I just did a hard reset on my Axim yesterday, See why here, and i went to restore from a full sprite backup that was saved as a self extracting backup to my SD card.
I performed Hard reset. I inserted SD Card and double clicked on self extracting file, and it restored The problem was, once the restore took place BIS no longer showed up. It was just gone. No way to get to it from explorer, Resco Explorer, and it didn't show up in the properties. I hard reset again and it was back. Restored again, gone. I hard reset again. I looked at the BIS, which i had wiped clean. And after the previous restore, and hard reset, the BIS now contained all the files that it should have from the backup. The Sprite program was one of them. I went into sprite, and it had lost my serial number, but it let me do the trial. So i opened the program in explorer and used it to open the self extracting file. it restored again, this time BIS was working and everything is fine. I don't know why the self extracting backup worked fine when used with the program, but not by itself. I mean by it self it DID "work" but it merely didn't show the BIS nor the contents. and the Programs installed in BIS would not run from the Programs menu. Weird, huh. Any one have any thoughts?
