I tried both and kept PocketBreeze combined with ContacBreeze and iLauncher.

I own both. And, I use both. (Not at the same time, but I alternate between Diary & PB/CB and also Pocket Plus and iLauncher.)

If you have and like Spb products like PP and Weather, Diary might make sense. It integrates weather forecast icons in the schedule shown on your today screen, which I think is a great feature. Also, Diary integrates your built-in notes (and also the Pocket Informant alarm notes which I use) as an included tab. It also has an included tab like CB. You can also run any of Diary's modules as a separate tab in Pocket Plus if you use that app. Diary must be installed to your main memory as of now.

In general, I think Diary is a little simpler than PB/CB.

Pocket Breeze/Contact Breeze has Amit, the developer. He's the best and most responsive developer that I've ever found. PB/CB have incredible customization options. You really can tweak it to your hearts content. And, it has a custom tab capability which allows you to run any other today screen plug-in as a tab within PB. That's awesome, and it's only going to get better when more custom tabs are permitted. In addition, if you use Pocket RSS as your newsreader, PB/CB already has a custom tab slot available for that app. I believe PB/CB will be including a notes component and better integration with the SBSH weather app: Pocket Weather in the future, but for now, it does not permit either of these in the same way that Diary already does.

In addition, PB/CB can be installed anywhere you want, and it will still run well and place the necessary elements in the main memory. As of now, there are all sorts of skins to customize PB/CB, too. Many for free.

Bottom line. I really like them both. Try them and see for yourself. But, I think Diary makes sense for someone who wants a simpler app and who uses other Spb products. PB/CB will work beautifully with Spb products, but is really one of the PPC enthusiasts essential apps.

Hope this helps a bit. It's certainly subjective, but I think it's helpful to hear from someone who uses both SBSH and Spb products and who like them both a lot.

i installed the trial version of spb pocket plus 3.0 and i think it is great. There is one problem though that i cant figure out is associated to the spb program or not. I have also installed a trial version of Age of Empires, and i cannot run it. it says that there are 10mb of Ram needed in order to run the game and to free up ram. Strange thing is, i have no other apps open when i try to play the game. Is this an Age of Empires glitch, or is spb slowin me down here.

PocketBreeze is more like SPB Diary, specifically. However I disliked my trial of SPB Diary because I found the scrolling on the Today page to be irritatingly slowish (on a fast X30). So i switched back to PB.

Now if only opening the cascading menu in WisBar wasn't so sloooowww...

I used to have SPB Diary and let me tell you, I like pocket breeze so much better!! Yeah, it is nice that diary has the integration of the weather (a tiny cloud by the day), but I found that I never really payed any attention to that little guy. I usually just look at the huge icon that I have sitting in my Pocket+ tab.

I really like breeze because it is much more customizable, and my Diary 3.0 seemed to have a problem with putting tasks in the calender (It would never work unless I attatched a note to it). I got real frustrated, removed it, downloaded breeze, and my life is much better now.

I'm only on the trial and it has only been one day, but so far I haven't found anything to complain about except that you cannot make new notes in the notes that unless you already have a note in the tab (get that??)

Both offer features I like so I use both pocketbreeze and spb plus. I would suggest reviewing screen shots and features, maybe do a trial of each.

On my Today screen I show SBSH Pocket Weather 1, followed by SBSH Pocket Breeze. Under SBSH Pocket Breeze I use WebIS Pocket Informant as my PIM and have a SBSH Pocket Breeze custom tab that loads up a SPB Pocket Plus tabbed interface. On the System Tray I have icons to enable applications to be quickly loaded. These icons are there courtesy of SBSH iLauncher.

There's some screen prints in this thread: http://discussion.brighthand.com/sho...&postid=775877

I think he is comparing pocket breeze and spb diary- since they essentially do the same thing.

Comparing pocket breeze with spb pocket plus is like comparing apples and oranges. Pocket breeze is for managing tasks, calender, notes etc- while spb pocket plus offers easy access to apps, and has a task management system that closes programs when you click the X...

But yeah. I'm pretty sure ur already aware of that because the guy up there summed everything up... =P anyways.

I use Pocket Breeze along with Contact Breeze; have never used the SPB products.

As a business tool, these two products are awesome. I sync a ton of notes and activities for my contact base, and having the ability to scroll through notes, e-mails, etc directly off the today screen is super. A wuick tap of a contact icon displays all phone, fax, e-mail numbers that are stored.

The new version offering the notes view is fantastic as well. I record voice messages and they are easily accesible with a touch of the stylus. In fact, I find myself copying and pasting Pocket Word documents into Notes so that I can access them from the today screen.

Overall, I would rate this combination as one of the top VALUES for the money of all the software that I have purchased. My next look will be at ilauncher.

Those software will slow down your ax. it is just too much features. Diary is lite and easy to use. Others are just bloated with features that you probably don't need.

I use SPB's Pocket Plus, Diary, Weather, Time, Full Screen Keyboard, and Tips & Tricks. Also use the free plug-ins for Pocket Plus; Folder and ToPlay.

Reasons I use SPB software: Low memory use, quality, clean integration, displays the information to me in a pleasing-to-the-eye interface, no garbage/clutter/group lines in the way, loads fast, and good support. I like their style. Compared to lots of the competiton, is easier on my budget!

Diary is customizable. You can remove the bars, the weather integration, icon sets, and how everything is displayed. The option interface is easy, and shows priviews of your changes too.
There is a lot of customization available.

Here is a 50% reduced photo of my today page, using a theme I been using for a while.

Personal information on the photo was altered before posting.

I have the Tasks added into my Schedule/Calendar, rather then placed into the task tab. (Personal preference)
View my Contacts and Notes from the Today page, this helps as I write notes on the fly, and can review the others with a mini pre-view window by tapping the note.
You can adjuyst the Diary height, so your ther Today Plug-ins don't dip below the command bar!

I use Pocket Plus tabs on the bottom. Main programs on left, system utilities next tab over, weather, Folders to show the docs in My Documents, and a media player with playlists added on the last tab.

It fits for me.

And Time is my screen saver and alarm. Got it free via their rewards program. You get points for buying software, and you can apply these points to get free software. So far, I got Time & Full Screen Keybord free.
The Tips & Tricks has a polished Tweaks section that I use. Lots of information available, with me all the time.

Also, you can get free plug-ins from the SPB web site and skins for their programs. As well as trials that give you time to look the programs over, and use them!

PS: I heard there will be some updates to add more tabs to Diary (e-mails was one), and current conditions to Weather.

Once you find what you want, no one else's opinion matters!

I've only used PocketBreeze, and I love it. Had it on my X5, and upgraded when I got the X51v.
