I'm wondering if I did something to my wifofum software. I walked the dog around the neighbourhood tonight, and didn't pick up a single wireless network (while WLAN picked up three).

It didn't even register my own, which I know is working fine.

Did I somehow clear all the local networks so it doesn't pick them up again ????

go to tools-->device-->odim

now you should start geting ssid's

also try ministumbler...

You know, I've often wondered why this step is necessary. I figured it out on my own, but you think the program would remember its own settings when it exited...I guess not.

Oh...and Ministumbler simply didn't work on my X50v, and I've seen that others have had the same experience. So considering the original poster has an X50v, perhaps Ministumbler isn't the way to go.

 

oh..i hope it works when i upgrade to the x50...as i use ministumbler all the time to look for aps..however, if wififum works..then right on...i just could never get it to work on my x30h though..

okay, maybe my eyesight's going, but under tools>device, ODIM doesn't show up. Just the following:

XSC1_IRDA1 (this is the one that's currently checked)
PPTP1
ASYNCMAC1
L2TP1

Make sure tha wifi is on first then close WiFiFoFum and open again, also make sure that you have latest version of wififofum. http://www.aspecto-software.com/WiFiFoFum/

Sorry, but Ministumbler doesn't support the wifi hardware in the x50 series and I haven't seen a new version in forever.

Just to throw another option out there, Hitchhiker 0.31 just came out about a week ago and is working without issues on my X50v with A05 ROM.

That's a good one too, but I miss ministumbler for wardriving. Wififofum works ok, but I can't get it to keep my ppc alive for me.
