looking for minimize & close function, plus monitors..

Noob here.... got my Axim yesterday. Love it so far, and everything works well, I just have a few little things...

I have been reading threads about this but did'nt see anything. I am looking to have the option to both minimize and close an app, not one or the other. Also is there any way to show open apps in the start bar like the time, volume, and wireless are currently? Kinda like other windows os's.

A coworker has a high priced HP that has monitors on his today page for mem, batt, and processor utilization. They are small icon displays....its called Todaypanel lite, is this an HP thing? I would like to have a something that shows important info such as batt, mem, and so on.

I want to keep it basic for now, so Im just looking for simple apps to do these things. But I am open to all suggestions!

Thanks

WisBar Advance gives you both close and minimize and you can choose to put runnning task icons on the Title Bar.
Clicking them restores the program similar to Win95/98/XP.
It also inlcudes a Title Bar battery/memory meter which you can select or not and can replace the standard Start Menu with an XP-style cascading Start Menu.

The last official release does have problems with the Axims so get the latest beta from here and try before you buy.

I recommend SPB pocket plus. It's pricy, but once you try it, it's hard to give it up! I have a battery pack too, but I perfer Pocket plus.

Try GSPocket Magic, it's like SPB and WisebarAdvance... but FREE and alot better and faster, just doesn't have the today plugin

Pocket Plus is great but it doesn't do what the person requested.
It doesn't put icons on the Task Bar and it desn't give you both close and minimize.
As far as I know it only offers close or minimize.

Look again. SPB Pocket Plus has the minimize option and the monitors. Icons on the taskbar are almost a trademark of wisbar and Wisbar Advance.

But to keep it simple and free i'd choose magic button and BatMemTime. No Taskbar icons though. I'd also add psxpshut for a cool menubar icon and pocket candy for a screen saver while my Ax was in the cradle.

Do you have a link for this? I did a google search, and looked at a couple freeware sites, but couldn't find it.

I also like Magic Button for a number of these functions (closing apps, and a nifty little battery bar) See MyPDA for links.
