Axim X50v Power/Switch Off Programs

Hi there,

I much prefer to select an item on my Today screen to switch off my handheld. I have done this for many years using Palm devices.

My problem is, that all the power off programs I have tried seem to cause a problem if used when the wireless is switched on.
I get a blank white screen when I switch my Axim back on, and I have to perform a soft reset to get it back to life !

If the wireless is first switched off, all the power off programs seem to work fine.

I do notice that when the 'real' Power Off button is selected, there is a small delay with the usual spinning indicator where I think the wireless is first shut down. If the wireless is first switched off, the Axim appears to shut down without this delay.

Is it possible to get any power off software that does the same thing as the power off button??

I have an Axim X50v running ROM A05.

Many Thanks

I have tried some software called PowerOff and another one I can't remember the name of.

Also the off button within Mem Maid 1.44 exhibits the same problem.

Thanks for any help.

Many thanks for the suggestion..

I have just tried Today Warrior, and it is the same as all the others.

It powers off really quick without appearing to shut down the wireless.
When the device is switched back on, nothing happens. When the device is lifed out og the cradle, the screen goes white with nothing on it.

Soft reset is the only thing to recover the situation..

There must be some software somewhere that will do the same as the power off button, surely !!

Every power off thing I have tried, all exhibts the same problem.

Thanks for your help.
