Hmm Grr. Nice Start & Battery Pack 1.0 vs HP Printing Utility

I was using "Nice Start" for security.
Turning on the Axim, you had to enter my password.
It came with an application to Restart or Turn Off my PDA too.
When I turned it back on, had to enter the password again. It did aits job, very well, and the Security Page could use the VGA screen.
It had other security options, like locking after so many attempts, or hosing your storage data after other set amount of tries. (Though I just had Temporary Lock and the Lock.)
I was impressed.

Also had Battery Pack Pro installed, used a serial number found on the net, it made it v1.0.
Too much extra baggage for me, but I guess you need a selling point, so add the extra stuff to take up your Today Page's real estate.
And it came with "power buttons".
WHat I REALLY liked about this program was one thing! It had a nice little meter and graphic that showed the battery time left. That really set its function for me.
The sounds for "Your battery is fully charged" and "You battery is low." or "Your memory is low." was okay, usually I could not understand it when it went off unless I was paying attention. - Would be great when listening through the headphones.

Okay, so I had a Power On security program, and a battery length time one. I liked them both.

But...

I had issues when pressing my hardware buttons, they were remapped every time I turned the unit on. I would have to go through Settings, rest them, and would be okay till the next power off/on or soft reset.
This REALLY got annoying. Worse, the programs affected my being able to turn on/off my WiFi with the hardware button.
Looked like it was working, the meter to enable or diconnect went though the steps and saw the window, yet nothing happened.

Then the final straw. Had set up the HP Mobile Printing utility. One or both of the programs hosed the program. Eveything was set up, running before installing them, and after removing them. However, when I want to print something from the other room, or the dunny, I sort of expect it to be printed through the network printer when I get back; instead of seeing errors on my Axim.

So, Nice Start & Battery Pack Pro are on my "not so nice" list.

Since I am new to the Pocket PC world, what other programs are out there that can do their job for password on/away security and show battery time left WITHOUT the extra garbage?
