I should be sleeping now I guess, but I never sleep much durring finals week. You can come work for me, but it doesn't pay well since I will have to take a huge cut
Being your own boss isn't always fun. You get through hard time where money is rare and teh bills are still piling up. If the business is stable then you work many hours to make more profit but are tired and do not have time for any vacations. The best of both world isn't acheived often.

Hopefully I have only two more days of work. My dad, who I work for, is selling the store. So that means I get to leave, finally, after almost working 5 years in a mall food court.

Yeah, actually I was being sarcastic. My in-laws run their own business. They've been at it for 15 years now and they're actually very stable and successful now. But I know the early years were very lean, indeed.
Speaking from experience it definetly isnt easy running your own business - I've been very lucky that I have the right contacts and a good reputation at the moment but I realise that this time in a few months my customers could easily dry up and so you have to earn the big bucks whilst you can to help you get through the lean periods (And I still haven't recoupriated the startup cost of the business yet!) but it is fun to do and its not a 9-5 job. (I've been phoned up about work at 3am sometimes!! - try sounding businesslike when you have just been woken up!)

Mine is effected by tourisim in the summer time, as is my regular job. So you do have to take it while you can. Sometimes you can discount rates in the summer to negotiate a full year contract. Every place is different, but many expierence these types of increases and decreases.

Wow Rdiver, I knew you managed a Gyro store at the mall, and cute girls worked with you, but I never knew it was your Dad's place, anyway is he buying a new business?:approve:
