s/k - It is a fact mentioned by TV commentators that the average scores aren't as good when Tiger plays. That's a fact, not a statistic.
IMO - The golfers are trying to take their game to a higher level when he plays and then they have more bad holes than good.

then your argument is that when Tiger plays the other golfers take more/harder risks in an effort to keep up with how good they think he is? dont take the safe shot go for it.. tiger would...(pun intended)

S/K - That's just my opinion and is the debate among sportswriters.
I know from watching other sports that teams normally play better against better teams. So, the question is, why aren't the other golfers scoring better when Tiger is playing?

i agree. when i played sports i found that when we played lesser teams we didnt try as hard and were likely to lose. when we played the better teams we tried harder to keep up.... so s/k fair call...

Should know that you shouldn't be confused kc but from what others tell me this comes quite naturally to you!
They are not shooting higher scores at all. They are scoring the best scores that they possibly can but the American commentators are simply trying to hype up everything that is Tigger because, even injured, they feel they still have to kiss his behind at every opportunity. No-one will ever know if he would have won every single tournament he has missed but given his previous record at not having done so it is safe to say that he wouldn't have, so which ones would he have won? The answer is that he would have won none, simply because he is still injured. How many times would I have crashed my car today if I had driven it? How much money would I have spent at the shops had I taken the time to go shopping? How many more children would I have sired had I not had the snip? These questions are limitless, pointless and totally unanswerable. In my opinion of course.

S/K - I still think Jack Nicklaus was a more competitive golfer. The competition in his era was tougher and he came from behind in many of his Major victories.

i think the best i ever did was 95 scratch without any cheating.. ie improving the lie or gimmies...lol....that would have been 20 years ago...
