Should know that I compliment you on your new found ability to read and with it the ability to also write. They should serve you well in the years to come.
Now you have all the skills necessary to fill in a visa application to apply to come and live in the civilised world, i.e. Scotland, but I should advise you that, at the sifting process, we reject all applications from Americans. It's the rules I'm afraid. I don't make them, I just enforce them.

Should know that I definitely understand and support that rule, Non. You see, one of my duties is to evaluate employment applications for open Database Administrator positions in our shop. We, too, automatically reject applicants that we feel are over qualified, for fear that they will very quickly find a more suitable place to grace their presence. I tip my hat to the Scottish immigration department for having such foresight.
Should know that I would like to ask, does your shop have a very poor record at keeping Database Administrator's? I only ask because if you managed to keep them for about 20 years then, in your working lifetime, you would only need to do your evaluating duties twice and as I wouldn't need your skills very often I would sack you immediately to save myself some dosh. If however they don't stay in post very long, requiring the utilisation of your particular skills more frequently, I would also be inclined to sack you immediately as you are obviously a very, very sub-standard evaluator. Which is it I wonder?

Should know that was an excellent job of dodging the subject at hand, Non. You must be a politician. But that's OK, I'll field your query anyway: We only have six permanent DBA's, but we hire many more contractors for short to medium term projects to work directly with our programmers to develop new applications. We weed out those with too much experience because they rarely stay long enough to complete a project. So, would you be interested? Oh, I forgot, you're a politician.
Should know that I would also, I would imagine, have to turn up at your shop every day to actually do the job which would be impossible because my high standards of cleanliness forbids me from entering America - just in case.
Are you the shopkeeper KB, and do you wear an apron to keep your pants clean? Is it one of those naughty ones with a picture of a Box on the front?

Should know that although I have the body of an Adonis, the apron you are talking about actually has an image of Mr Buonarroti's David on it, an unfortunate and pale comparison to my own god like image.
