I went to that site. I saw nothing on the URL you provided that discussed usage of the term GOD (and I sure have no inclination to search the entire site trying to find it).
No, I'm not calling you a liar. I am saying that as usual, you are severely misinformed. :p
So none of us are as smart or informed as you? No matter what , we're interpretting whatever it is wrongly and you know the truth that escaped us all.
(I hope the sarcasm is evident)
If you refuse to do the research you're just closing your mind to the truth. We can't help you if you won't open your mind to other sources of information
I believe you said something similar to me about your "evidence" and my not looking it up myself. Hypocrisy as clear as the monitor on my desk. (no offense of course, just an observation)

OK, you're too lazy to click a couple of links, here is the direct quote from this page
Quote:
Name of G-d
Judaism has a wide variety of names for the Creator; however, these names are not casually written down because of the risk that someone might destroy the writing, an act of disrespect for G-d and His Name.

Originally posted by Jwilker You know, no matter how many times you say that it doesn't get any truer to some of us. You're right about the ammo. When you sling half answers, idividual interpretations, and disregard any info or opinion that differs from your own, I imagine you never run out of answers.
But then you knew I'd say that as much as I knew you'd claim to have provided valid answers. We know each other so well.
Jwilk... you know, those messages still exist on this thread. Your challenges and my answers to them. Anyone wanting to read them for themselves and who has the unbelievable stamina of searching back through all these pages may do so.
And you know what? You can make the above claims as many times as you want, spout them as often as you want, and that won't change the facts of what is written there.
You presented challenges. I answered them very logically and plainly and to the point. I didn't leave gray areas. I "interpreted" nothing. I presented factual answers to misinformed questions. And people can easily determine that for themselves just by going back and reading.
Frankly, I don't care whether you accept those answers or not. No skin off my nose. It just confirms to me that no matter what anyone says, or presents, or proves in opposition to your opinion... you're not going to accept it. Your mind is like a steel trap-- clamped shut, and apt to stay that way.

not to be too picky, those words were not added until much later in our history.
The last change in the Pledge of Allegiance occurred on June 14 (Flag Day), 1954 when President Dwight D. Eisenhower approved adding the words "under God".
As he authorized this change he said:
"In this way we are reaffirming the transcendence of religious faith in America's heritage and future; in this way we shall constantly strengthen those spiritual weapons which forever will be our country's most powerful resource in peace and war."
just for edification. ;)
this is added on edit . . . most folks associate this phrase with the pledge. many forget it is on our currency. trying to find the date that happened . . .

Howard2k,
Not to be rude, but you made a claim. It is your responsibility to back it up. I am interested in what books you are referring to...

Even though it makes the replies long I'm just quoting the entire messages now :)
I can save them the time the answers are there. Assuming you're ok with few facts, lots of questionable data with no given source, lots of "becauses", and a few "you don't understand"s. Actually a whole lot of "you don't understand"s
You couldn't be more wrong. I wish I could get you to understand. I'm completely open minding to most things but I don't accept unfounded claims as proof. I need more than that to be persuaded. It's this damn brain of mine. It won't stop working. ;)
