God the Father was active here in the Old Testament times.
Then Jesus came to provide the perfect sacrifice for our sins.
Now the Holy Spirit is here, abiding with believers who have accepted the free gift of salvation through Jesus.
He will not abide with sin. Therefore He will not be with those who have not accepted Jesus. This world is under the curse, because of sin (see Genesis). The Bible fits together correctly, no errors, when one takes the time to study it and understand what it says.
Realize that part of the Bible is historical, some of the Bible is poetical, part of it is prophetic, and some of it is teaching and exhortation. Some of the Bible was to the Jews only, while some of it was written to New Testament believers. Some of it is written in context of the time and people it was written to.
First and formost, the Bible was not written in English or any other language spoken today. The Bible was originally written in Hebrew (which is not the version spoken in Isreal today) and Aramaic, with parts of it probably written in Greek. You will see different versions of the Bible say different things because of the way it was translated.

I think a more serious answer is that those two (or more) terms have become part of the vernacular completely seperate of their religious implications.

geneb. I'm still not clear on the difference. In your first quote you said that You either read the course curriculum (scripture), learn what is necessary, and pass the course. Then up above you said Read the course curriculum (scripture), LEARN what is necessary (how God says we should live, and put it into practice), and pass the course (please God).
You could clarify by telling us what happens if we do NOT read the curriculum, learn what is necessary and pass the course.
To me, you implied something but since when I stated it you said I was incorrect, what DID you mean? What happens if we do not read, learn and do?
Secondly. Is vanity not a sin? I thought God could not sin? If he DID sin he would not be perfect right?
Anyway. Don't want to drag it on.
My position is that I have absolutely no desire to be invovled with a religion/club/cult that will give one of its highest honours to a child molesting priest while damning my next door neighbour who is one of the nicest guys I know. Just because he doesn't believe in the right god.
Spending time with good neighbour or child molestor?? I choose good neighbour.

Why don't we all make a pact that 100 years from now, where ever we are, we get togethr for bragging rights on who was right or wrong..no wait thats foot ball here in the south. The one thing we can all agree on is that none of us will know 100% for sure untill its to late to change our minds. Personaly I am still enough of a "questioner" (is that even a word?) about the after life that I cannot believe that a supream beaing would exclude on group over another just becasue of thier beliefs. My hope is that if there is a God, that SHE will make damn sure that anyone that ever takes the life of another human (and or animal) just to get on HER good side will definetly go to hell. And yeah I do believe that any supreme being is more likely to be female rather than male.

First point: The ONLY way to God the Father is through Jesus the Christ the only begotten Son of God. If you don't want to choose Him then you automatically choose hell.
Second pont: Vanity is wrong because Man is imperfect. God is perfect so it is not vanity, but a just expectation of what is due Him from His creation.
This is what the Bible says, what the Holy Spirit and creation testify to, and what I believe.
If you believe differently, that is your right because we were created with free will.
Truth will not be changed by what anyone believes. If you are wrong, you will pay a terrible price. If I am wrong, then so what?
I don't try to force people to come to God the way some religions do. I am only supposed to tell people about God and Jesus. The work of conviction is up to the Holy Spirit.

Star, star, starrrr the old testament is so icky and we don't like to talk about that part. I mean we can't win people over if we go around stoning our wives and neighbors :D
