I didn't ask if PT boats were gone, I just asked if there were still any and the inference was that if Fangy the marine does not make it to captain of an aircraft carrier there might be an opening for him on a PT boat. Comprendez? (That's French, or Spanish depending on which side of the border you were born)

Can one join the seals as a direct entrant then or must you go through pup training first?

What level of pup training? Paper trained or Outdoor trained.

I am just reading a Wiki entry about navy sea-lions and it says recruits must be able to run 1.5 miles in boots and long pants in 10:20. Questions aplenty. Can you guys not walk faster than that? Over here we call that a small jaunt particularly when trying to evade the chibers on a Saturday night. Long pants? What are they? Are they like American for long-johns? Not very cool for the image. Are sea-lions afraid of a little chaffing?
