Yes we do get our fair share of rain here, due in no small way to the fact that we live on a relatively small island which at its thinnest is about 70 miles wide and which sits smack, bang in the path of the gulf stream. In Australia, I'm led to believe that 70 miles is about the size of an average driveway! Or at least it appears so in one of my favourite episodes of The Simpsons so it must be true because Fox don't tell lies do they?
