It'll dry out in the sun. :)

Electrons flow better through coffee anyway.

So, if I understand correctly, heave the computer out onto the lawn and then return to my newspaper and coffee?

If you heave it, you may not have a working computer when you take it back in.

Sounds good to me as long as I'm not buying.

North Carolina's tax free weekend is approaching, and my 6-year-old desktop has been acting funny lately. Tempting.

Our tax freee weekend doesn't include electronic items. Only clothing and small school supplies. :(

That's a shame; we can get computers and printer supplies and such. You ought to move to North Carolina--at least for one weekend

I could have my daughter buy it if I wanted it that bad and could save some money. :)

Many of the states in the U.S. suspend their sales taxes on a weekend just before the fall school semester starts. We can buy clothing and school supplies with no taxes in preparation for school. I think it has become the biggest shopping weekend of the year, except for the beginning of Christmas purchases following our Thanksgiving holiday. Holidays here are now measured by degrees of consumerism

Unless you're spending a lot of money, the savings aren't that great. If the state tax is 7% and you spend $1,000 you'd save $70. However, most spend much less. :o

IMO - It was started by the retail industry to carry them over until the Christmas buying push. :(

I think KC is quite right. And most retailers don't really put things on sale that weekend, so the prices pretty much even out compared to real bargains.

The only thing good for us is my wife and I use that weekend to go buy clothes and spend around $500, then use the tax savings for a dinner after shopping. :approve:

A PST, Non my good lad, is a Physical Screening Test. It consists of a swim of 500 yards using breast or side stroke in under 12min 30sec. You are then given 10 minutes to change into PT gear then you do 42 pushups in 2min, or you max out and do as many as you can. 2min rest. 50 sit-ups or max out in 2min and then another 2min rest. You then do at least 6 pull-ups or max out in no time limit. 10min rest/recover. Then you must run 1.5 miles in under 11min 30sec. You can do this test over and over again before you ship off to boot camp. If you don't pass you don't get to change your Navy contract. If you pass this test 2 times you had the option to become a SEAL, SWCC, EOD or Navy Diver.
