We just bought a Sony 42" LCD TV ourselves. It's amazing how much bigger it is than the 32" we had. :)

well first i wanted an LCD i saw a NEC 37" for $1500 AUD it was full HD, then when she said ok we looked around and she then picked the Panasonic 42" 80a plasma until the guy told her that a PS2 would give burnin of the image. she changed to an LCD. we finally picked a LG 42lg50fd fullHD screen......nice picture.....

We stuck with the Sony and Sharp brands since they got the best ratings. Although, all the brands we looked at had great pictures. :)

well the sony bravias were almost $1000 dearer we got a good deal on the LG with wallmount ,2 years extra warranty,LG DVD player with HDMI output, 1.8m HDMI cable and a 4 way belkin surge board for $2500AUD... probably cheaper for you guys .. stuff is dear down under...

It's very dear here too. This one was on sale though. Originally priced at $3,200 and on sale for 2,100. Plus, they were having a scratch off sale, so we got an additional 15% off. And, we got the extended warranty. :approve:
The only downside was it only had 3 HDMI inputs. Of course, I only have two devices with HDMI outputs. :)

Yeah, that's what my son told me too. He has one 'cause his LCD TV is a little older and only had 2 HDMI inputs and he has 6 devices with HDMI outputs.
I doubt we'll ever need more than three. But, one never knows. ::

do yourself a favor and get a harmony remote from logitech... i just bought the 525 and its wonderful. 1 button press and it turns the tv on sets the cable box on sets the correct av input etc... the wife loves it . 1 rempte instead of 6...lol

They are good remotes, but, don't control all the functions on my DVR cable box. However, my DVR remote controls all the functions I normally use on the TV. I only use the TV remote if I need to change a setup feature. :)
