But then who would use up all the surplus trees on the planet? They have to be used for something you know.

Have you ever been to Iceland? Not many trees there.

Any surplus could be sent up north.

I have been to Iceland but alas only to the frozen food shop. Does that count? There are definitely no trees in their shops.

You went to Iceland and didn't visit Gulfoss, Geyser, and Thingviller?

And, they actually have a national forest in northern Iceland.

They're about 1 - 1.5 hour drive. You could tour all three in a day.

With a slight detour, you can even walk on a glacier.

Sounds cool (literally and figuratively).
I know Reykjavik was the site of the famous chess match between Bobby Fischer and Boris Spassky. I think there is a significant chess culture in Iceland in general.

I believe Iceland has the highest per capita chess players in the world. If not, it's definitely the favorite pastime.

It's also where Fischer became a citizen and passed away recently.

When/if you go, plan to do it when they use live chess characters on the large chess board in Rejkavik. I want to say it's in May or June. But, you'll have to look it up on-line. I'm not even sure if they do it anymore. We went once and it was great.

And....checkmate - I'm last.

Some generous winner of this thread will sell a motorcycle and donate the cash to pay for a trip to Iceland.
