The Icelanders call it Gruntland in their language. :)

As I mentioned once before, living in Iceland was a very enlightening experience, especially for my kids. :approve:

Even today their pronounciation is very close to the old nordic viking language - but I'm sure you already knows - at least ®

That's very true. I spent some time trying to learn the language myself. I won't say I was fluent, but, I could carry on a basic conversation. :)

My funniest experience with the language was asking the instructor their word for car. And, he said car. I said, yes, what is the word in your language. He looked at me and said The Norseman didn't have cars and there was no word for it in their language.
