Hot Linking an Image is when you simply access the Properties of an Image and use that URL as your IMG Tag, or if the pic is on it's own Page, copying the URL from the Address Bar and using that.
There
are circumstances where Hot Linking is normally acceptable. For example when referring to a Product and a link to the product's website is included in the text of the Thread and/or the image itself is made a clickable link. You can also give a "Credit Link" below the pic to the website the pic came from.
ALL OTHER IMAGES should be linked to your own personal webspace, and in this particular Thread should NOT be attached, as this could put a strain on AximSites Server Space. You may also use a Free Picture Hosting site if you wish.
I would also like to add that pix should be resized to no more than 640 pixels wide with a resolution of 72. This will keep from having to scroll L/R (on PCs), to view not only the pic, but any subsequent and previous Posts.
A resolution of 72 is plenty clear enough and is the approximate standard for most websites. Most monitors will not resolve finer detail than 72 and it will keep the file/DL/Access times to a minimum.
All my pics are at 72, do they look unacceptable for this type of "Fun Posting"?........I cant tell the difference.
