Hmmm - You didn't get the HBROM update in 1985?

HB is for Human Brain.

Oh I forgot, it didn't include Califonians.

No, us Californians missed quite a lot in the 70's and 80's....especially those that hung out in the Berkeley area, they're the ones that invented Unix....and you know they had to be on some powerful drugs to invent something like that! ;-)

Unix was created in 1969 by Ken Thompson and Dennis Ritchie at Bell Laboratories in NJ. That's a long way from Berkeley.

I stand corrected, I was apparently thinking of the Berkeley Software Distribution, which is an adaptation of Unix.

The only reason I know is Bell Labs used it on one of the computers I worked on in the mid 70's and I had to go there for training. Ken Thompson was one of my instructors. My job classification in the Navy was Systems Analyst. :-)

To make you feel better, he did go to Cal Berkeley. He just wasn't there when he did it. He was also a Navy brat. LOL

It was probably the most enlightening course I've ever taken. Although it took us a few days to get him down to our level of understanding. What I learned about operating systems from that man I still apply today. :-)
