I'll have to post to the what made me smile today thread as well but Laser Shows are truly entertaining. Imagine a screensaver projected on a 50 foot wide dome and you can kind of get the the idea. ;) Here in Cambridge at the MoS Planeterium they use 21 lasers to project images not only in sync but contextually related to the music. For instance; when the song "Money" came on there was a cash register and a hand pushing the keys and putting in change, Dollar and cents signs where floating all around, dollars bills, images from money and a really cute anagram type thing using the different slogans that can be found on US currency were displayed. You really have to see one to get what I'm saying.
No I never tried to sync that up, but I just might. ;)

Not union, Government! It really drives us nuts. She just gives a sad excuse and whips up some tears and she's good to go.
I've had one of those tear employees before. Guess I'm just a harda** that doesn't get swayed by those types. If they are getting fired and want to cry about it, then they should have thought of that before they did what was getting them fired. :ax:

Well your at it, you should really check out syncing up Echoes with the first 23 minutes of Act 4 of 2001: A Space Odyssey. It's stunning the depth Echoes adds to it, makes it very enjoyable, not that the original soundtrack did not. I think on the third beep of echoes you start the first beep on the video.
I would do it right now, but as earlier said, my tapes rather busted.
Wish there was a laser show around here to go to, I'd be there.
And to keep things on topic, my audioscrobbler still isn't uploading any infomation, and I couldn't work on the truck because the weather is no good. Oh well, lots of time on my hands, and it is a civic holiday afterall.
My thing is that my blood-gluclose skyrockets. I'm one of those 'lucky few' that has dawn phenomenon to an extreme. I have to wake up between 3 and 5 AM to give myself an injection to counteract DP.
I test myself between 6 and 10 times a day.
I get up around 3-5 for an injection of regular insulin. I take another injection of 70/30 when I wake up for the day. Take another injection before breakfast. An injection before lunch. Another before dinner. And throughout the day if my blood-gluclose levels rise above 250 (which is very common for me -- for now), then I take another injection of 70/30 about an hour or so after dinner. Then a massive injection of Lantis before bedtime.
Two months ago, I was deathly terrified of needles. I now know why my doctors want to put me on a pump...
This diabetes thing is no fun at all. I hardly have energy anymore. When I do, I make sure my energy is used for exercise (I ride a bike -- part of why I wanted the Axim).
As I said before -- sometimes, life just sucks...
I feel your pain, m'friend... I feel your pain.. at least, my fingertips do!
My wife is a severe diabetic (30 years). She also had drastic fluctuations and coma experiences. 4 years ago she began using an insulin pump. She still has to test frequently, but doesn't have to take injections or long acting insulin. The computer regulates the amount that goes in every hour, so no more "dawn syndrome" events because it can be programmed to avoid that sort of regular change. Talk to a good Endocrinologist about a pump, it has given her back her life and freedom!I'm also a Type 2.In the last year I have lost 80 ib. and walk 1-2 miles a day.No more pills and I test about 3 times a week, always normal. There is always light at the end of the tunnel.Good luck.

The thing with the pump that weirds me out is that it is ALWAYS 'in' you. Your wife is the classic example that I've been given -- people who use the pump, LOVE the pump -- well, those are people that have been giving themselves injections for twenty+ years -- not two+ MONTHS! I'm really starting to see the benefits of a pump, though.
I meet with my regular doctor next week to get one. Which one does your wife have? They're wanting me to get an Accu-Chek Spirit, which looks kind of neat.
Does your wife ever worry about the feed line getting tangled? Pinched? Those are some of my concens. I'm not a 'fitful' sleeper, but I do toss & turn. I've got fears of ripping this thing out in my sleep. Of course, these are all questions better suited for my endocrinologist... She just says, "oh, don't worry about it".

I feel better knowing I'm not alone.
I am TB's wife, I have a Disetronic that I have had for almost 5 years. I'm not sure they are being distributed in the US currently, it's Swiss made. Accu-check is one of the ground breaking mfg. of the testers and I'm sure they are excellent. The tubing is thin, and sometimes it gets caught on things, mine is often hanging loose from my swimsuit and it doesn't cause any serious problems, just slows you down. Never had it crimp and not work, but it will alert you if it does. IT IS WONDERFUL TECHNOLOGY, DON'T FEAR IT AND YOU WILL LOVE IT. You do NOT have a needle inserted, only a very fine piece of plastic tube.
Tblove back...pm me and will give you email address for any more help we can give.
Sorry for going off topic, just trying to help.
Here are some instructions on how to do that sync at home with your existing home entermainment system. I would not smile if I bought the video and it didn't work. But seeing as how they are debuting it in Seattle...

I've never seen the DSotM one, although I'm sure it's just as stunning as it's made out to be. Perhaps I'll search for another AVI. Thats similar to what I was wishing to do with my tape, I was setting to record it to my HD so that I could've made a MPEG with Echoes over it perfectly lined up.
Hopefully I'll get a new DVD or Tape soon and I'll be able to Git er done.
Also it's a new day, and nothing bad has happened so far.... I'm on the look out though. For one thing there is nothing good on TV, but that shouldn't really count, it is 2 in the morning afterall.
