My apartment has two assigned parking spaces, covered parking is to be used by Residents only. I only have one vehicle and don't worry if someone uses the spare.
Today I got home from a double shift to find someone diagonally parked across both of them. Turns out it wasn't even a Resident, but a guest.
I parked my truck to block them in and waited over an hour before they rang my doorbell.
I was my normal, pleasant self when they did, and only took 20 minutes before I came out and explained to them the error of their ways.....and the Resident they were visiting, too.
Danged if I couldn't get my truck started for another 10 minutes. I figure they came out half an hour ahead on the deal.

Well we were going to fix a old first generation P4, would start up, the case fan would only kick. Did some continuity tests, one of the mosfets wasn't workin, 12 going in and nothing coming out. Looked though some old boards and found a similar mostfet, tryed it out, same thing. When the processor is taken out however, it will output. We put the processor in whilst taking a reading and the second it was in and put in place was the output droped to o.3 ohm which is, well thats just dead.
So it's unfortunate, it had a good 256 mb of RDRam and would've made a nice machine, oh well.

Maybe that didn't make YOU smile today - but your story just made ME smile!
When today i fried my power wire from one of my molex's to my fan... My psu turned off and i didn't think anything of it and plugged my pc into a different outlet, turned it on and shorted the end of my 3pin wire, frying my molex to 3-pin fan converter.

ha I did that the other week at the mall. This truck decides to take up 4 spaces on a sat(really really really busy and no parking spaces). so me and my friend park to block him in. went in and 2 hours later came out and it was still there I guess he worked there or something.

Made an ebay purchase. Bastard forgot to tell me i have to pay taxes before i get my itemn and i've already paid! Now i owe him 0.56US to get it. I mean seriuosly, 56 cents....
Ecks
Walking back to my car after doing some grocery shopping around 1pm Eastern Time, remembering getting my keys out of my pocket, then waking up four hours later in ICU.
And here I sit. I have vague flashes of being in an ambulance, and I remember a paramedic guy with the nametag of "FALK" on his chest. I sort of remember him testing my blood sugar from different points in my body and getting my arms rigged with IV needles...
Apparently, my blood-gluclose levels went well beyond 600 (dropped me in my tracks into a semi-coma) then plummeted to 19. In the span of an hour.
That didn't make me smile today...
I guess they were right when I was stuck in ICU a week and a half ago (and two weeks before that, and two weeks before that one [when we found out I was a diabetic]). They said that I can expect this to happen a few more times in the course of the year...
ugh... sometimes, life just sucks.
(EDIT) : I'm starting to have seriously doubt if I should be driving again until this is under control... Last thing I need is to be barreling down the interstate at 80MPH and slip into a coma. Knowing my luck, I'd slam into a busload of elderly, pregnant nuns and knock 'em off of a cliff in a fireball...

Bud...I can only partially understand your "state-of-mind".
You might know I was recently diagnosed as Type 2. Only gotta stick myself twice a day to check my glucose.
...I recall you saying you gotta do it 5+ times a day........ouchie!!!
(to say the least, not from a pain perspective, the testing strip cost alone must be astronomical!)
Not that that is by ANY means, your biggest concern.
I haven't even really begun to "get into" the Diabetic State of Mind yet. And I have no real concerns of going ++++Hypoglycemic.
You have my complete & total Empathy!!!
Truely, something to not smile about.
