Middle East and the Gulf are awash in Cash

From Business Week Oct 3, 2005;

A Bourse Is Born

" .....With oil prices hovering around $60 a barrel, the Middle East and the Gulf are awash in cash. The four regional heavy hitters - Saudi Arabia, Iran, Kuwait, and the United Arab Emirates - are likely to rake in a total of $276 billion in oil revenues this year, ....."

Do I feel like I've been raped or what? Not only were our troops and our tax dollars used to defend both SA and Kuwait in the first Gulf War, but now we are giving it to them with high gas prices.

We would be in "Mad Max" era if we cannot find another alternative fuel to keep the economic going.

Either way, regardless of how our money is spent by the oil we purchase, we should still look to alternative fuels and refining coal. Did you know that wind power is economical now for the average home owner in certain area's of the United States? We just need to fire some politicians, get off our lazy butts, and move past the red tape. We can do better, but too much of the present and not future is at stake.

We had our chance in the 70's with the oil embargo, but did we prepare? No!, instead we are still at the mercy of these oil rich countries, and to make matters worse, Detroit is turning out even bigger gas guzzling motors, "That thing got a Hemi, Dude?"

Our over dependence on forien oil is due to Environmentalists. 30 years and we haven't upgraded/built/opened/drilled/explored/expanded/..... anything that would help us get off of forein oil. i.e. drilling sites(colorado area has more oil than the whole middle east), florida(although jeb did the thing with the thing to make it happen), alaska,... We haven't built/expand any refineries in 30 years(while demand for gas has dramatically increased.)

The environmentalists have our hands tied, and we can't do anything to get off of foreign oil. The true blame is on them(Yes the middle east is milking the cow because we have created an environment to allow it)

If you want cheaper gas, less of a problem in the middle east, richer US, than get pissed at the envirnomentalists(you can't spell envirnomentalists without mental haha)

then why hasn't a refinery been built in the past 30 years?

why was the army corps sued(before katrina, late 90s) when trying to raise and strengthen the levys of New Orleans?

why has malaria flourished again when it was almost completely erradicated from the face of the earth?

Environmentalists

There is no gas or oil shortage this is the seventies once again. The oil tycoons are raping us for sure. They see a high demand for gas by the military for fighting wars so they decide to stick it to us too. There are also bigger gas hogs being produced and people are buying them which makes the oil tycoons even happier. They are encouraging the automakers to make inefficient vehicles. What we need to do as consumers is bring the demand back down by only doing necessary driving no more joyriding until the price comes back down under 2 dollars a gallon. The last thing those greedy bastards want is for us to change our driving habits for good then they start selling less gasoline even if it cost more they still will lose money if you visit the pump less frequently.

Not only that but gas should drop to 1.50 per gallon before I am happy again. Yes this is unlikely, but economically possible, given the right variables.
