hold the power back!

i dunno where this thread should go...

but anyway. im lookg for a device i can put in a circuit so power can only complete the circuit if its over 12v.

is there such a device? so (neg) (*unknown*) (led) (pos)

so the LED only lights up when its more than 12v getting to the *unknown* so it lets voltage through.

any ideas?

A comparator does what you want.
An ordinary 741 along with a zener diode and some resistors can control a LED.
