will there be an axim phone in 2006?

Okay I had the Axim X50V when it first was released and it was great. I sold it and purchased a treo 650. I wanted to jump on the convergence bandwagon. So far so good. I use my treo everyday from entering medical patient notes to listening to subscription music on pocket tunes deluxe. One thing bothers me, I really miss pocket pc operating system. Never liked palm os . wish sprint offerred the new windows version of the treo or a firmware to upgrade it. That would be cool. Which leads me to my question. Is dell going to absolutely offer an axim phone in 2006.

Nobody knows... except maybe Dell (and they ain't telling)

Although seeing as the Axims are made by HTC they could do something by just signing a large purchase order, and approving some design specs.

If you really need/want something have a look at the imate Jam/XDA/K-Jam or Jasjar

My guess is that sooner or later we'll see a Dell Phone device along those lines

a phone integrated with the pocket pc - I hope not - I want my computer seperate to my phone ( except for skype , voip , etc ).
apart from the bulk and batt drain , I like to be able to change my phone without having to change my handheld . i now have a nokia 6630 ( GPRS/EDGE/WCDMA - symbian 60 ) and with bluetooth I can utilise the functions I require from it via my x50v just fine.
combining a phone and a ppc is just bling in my opinion.

If you watch the presentation video (featuring the heads of MS, Verizon and Palm) on Microsoft's web site, when they demo the WM5-based Treo, you can see what appears to be Bill Gates's cell phone number. :hide:
