Received the two Jukeboxes Saturday (well, I was out, so Saturday night) and opened them up Sunday morning to charge. I was reasonably happy with the first one I opened. On very close inspection, I noticed a couple of small dents on the back, but nothing I would be too upset about on a refurbished item.
The second one was something else. The first thing I noticed was a small gouge in the corner of the viewscreen. When I turned it over, it looked like someone had used some harsh solvent to clean it, because the area with the UPC codes and serial numbers is impossible to read. The ink has been removed from the label (see pic). Whoever used this chemical must have been trying to clean off the dirt and mud, because it looks like this thing was dropped on a gravel road and run over a couple times. There are many severe scratches and gouges in the aluminum (magnesium?) housing, and the small screws in the corners look like they've been removed and replaced with the wrong size screwdriver several times.
After charging the batteries, I checked the internals. The good one has an advertisement for MusicMatch installed. The bad one was blank. Further examination led me to the settings window, where I noticed the bad one was already registered to somebody named UMANG (see pic).
I guess now I'm not exactly sure about the definition of REFURBISHED anymore. As far as I'm concerned, the second Jukebox I received is USED, not REFURBISHED.
I'm contacting the seller immediately to find out if they'll exchange it. Problem is, I need both of them in good condition for Christmas gifts. Just one won't be enough.

PS. Whatever committee decided on the rules for uploading pictures really needs to publish those items somewhere. I couldn't find any etiquette rules in the FAQ, so I (correctly) assumed it would tell me if there was a problem when I uploaded them. I first had to resize the pictures because they were larger than 100k, which I did. I then had to resize them because they were larger than 450x450. Would have been nice to know this ahead of time so I only had to perform one resize operation.
