Geek Books

Houston Chronicle's Science Guy cited Jack Schofield (Manchester Guardian) list of the top 20 Geek novels written since 1932. I have only read 11, unfortunately. They are:
Hitchiker's Guide to the Galaxy
Ninteen eighty-four
Brave New World
Do Androids Dream of electric sheep
Neuromancer
Dune
I, Robot
Foundation
Colour of Magic
Microserfs
snow Crash
Watchmen
cryptonomicon
consider Phlebas
Stranger in a Strange Land
Man in the High Castle
American Gods
Diamond Age
Illuninatus Trilogy
Trouble with Lichen

Interesting list!

I've read 13 of the 20. I'd add "The Hacker Crackdown" to the list for some non-fiction though. Geeks don't live on Fantasy alone.

Eep. I've read 8 of the top 9, so I guess I _am _ a true geek after all...

I didn't mind the TV series from the 80'sm, at least it made an attempt to stay with the book. I saw the latest movie for the first time a few weeks ago, and it was crap!!

Where did all that stuff come from? Douglas Adams would be spinning like a top...
