No Audio (but perfact video) with PCMCIA TV Tuner on my Notebook

This is an offbeat question.

I have Asus L3800C notebook - P4-1.6Ghz-256MB DDR2-30GB HDD-2USB-2FireWire-2PCMCIA Slots-FastIR-ATI Mobility Radeon 7500-XP SP2-DIRECT X 9.0c.

I installed SmartTV PCMCIA TV Tuner (china make), WinDVR3 Software and WinAMP with TV Plugin (I tried). Very strangely I am not getting audio (despite every possible trial including writing to Asus tech support). It has Ricoh PCMCIA Card Bus Controller and Integral Internal Audio (AC'97) / Crystal WDM Audio (I tried). I found over the net about some compatibity isuue with Ricoh Cardbus Controller (current ampere ratings etc.?!)Asus tech-support adviced me to try-before-buy for such cards.

Now what can I do? I am thinking of getting USB speakers / another USB TV Tuner Card (will it work as my internal audio is not working with PCMCIA TV Tuner). Otherwise audio is fine with all CD/DVD/Media player softwares etc. It just isn't routing audio from PCMCIA TV Tuner video to internal audio system.

Any help is appreciated. Thanks in advance.

Creative Audigy2 ZS PCMICA Sound Card has similar problems with some including this notebook, I searched.

Since the video is perfect, the data pump must be operating properly and therefore, the problem is in or after the demux stage in software. Do you have all the codecs installed? Maybe it's using AC3. I had a similar issue once. Installing AC3 solved it.
