Good PC Registry Cleaner?

Anyone got a recommendation for a good registry cleaner for the PC? My laptop seems to have developed a problem. We thought it was the hard drive, but the guys at Best Buy said the hardware is fine. We've done the spyware scans and I'm clean. Now I want to make sure everything is fine with the registry. Suggestions?

spyware and virus scanners should be scanning the registry, so if there was a problem it should be detected

Registry Cleaner

I use Norton's System Works.

One feature available is called "OBC", one button checkup.
OBC does seven scans and then clean's "problems"

Windows Registry Scan
Program Integrity Scan
Virus Definitions Scan
Auto-Protect Scan
Last Virus Scan
Shortcut Scan
Cleanup Scan

Each scan will show a list of "potential" problems, giving you the option of "fixing" the problem.

Been using for years, seems to do a great job. :approve:

Registry Scan

Sorry Cheryl,

I had a few problems on another desktop. Some kind of "flu bug."

To fry the little Trojan, I ran AV and Adware scans in "safe mode." Doing so kept the nasty guy in his cage till I could get there with the deep fryer. Gone.
