EDIT: Sorry, that probably adds nothing to this thread, but I couldn't resist. The Pinto was a bigger disaster for Ford than the Edsel and the flipping Explorers. I hired a ragtop 'Stang from Hertz in Hawaii last September and loved it to death.

I am fowarding the thread to Ford Customer Service now. I will say one good thing about the dealership, They did find $300 cash that was lodged in between the center hump and the center console and called me to come get it. ( just to say one thing good about my saga )

For anyone interested, I do love my Mustang... but FORD... GRRR

Here is my post from THIS thread....

Oh, ick. I never did like the "hatchback" era of Mustangs. Just didn't look like a Mustang to me.

Very nice pics Chris! Don't be too upset with the car, T5 trannies suck. It is probably a lemon from Borg Warner, not Ford. I would just burn the dealership down. Besides, what other car can you buy and get that kind of performance for the money? And the aftermarket parts!!!

I always liked that one. :approve: Another good one is MOPAR: Mostly Old Parts and Rust!

I do like the Mustangs, the new 2005+ are awesome. Factory with a Tremec 5 spd. And that awsome 69 look. I am currently in between muscle cars because of family obligations. But I am about to sell my Tore-A$$ (taurus) to buy a 90 notchback mustang. IT is a mass air car as apposed to Chris's 86 speed density computer. (bet only 2 people in the forum understand what I am talking about!) But I can get 20 miles or so a gallon and drive it back and forth to work. And there are a ton of bolt ons available for it!!!

2005 Mustang is sweet. However, I think it will pale in comparision to the 2009 Camaro. if chevy brings it back. There isn't much info about it but I just dont see why Chevy would kill the Camaro in 2002 if they weren't planning to bring it back to compete with the Mustang. But with all the trouble GM is in right now, I hope they can still pull it off.

Have you seen the new vette? LS7? That will be the baddest muscle car out. (not talking about exotics)

I think gm wanted to concentrate on the corvette mistique. I didn't car for the LS2. The Z06 was lame with the LS6, but I am geeked about an all aluminum 427cid! Awesome!! :approve:

This 1st picture has nothing to do with my current trouble, but it shows how the "factory" overlooks things.... This rubber band you see is not able to be removed without cutting. It was left in the car after it was put together. The rubberband apparently was left on from installing the electrical harness as there is no way to get it on there after it was installed.

This next pic shows the connector that goes to cig lighter that has never had a plug plugged into it. In fact, there appears to be no mating plug in the car at all!!!

The traction control connector still left off with a broken wire now. (which was not the reason I took it in)

Close up

I am off to oil change place to get that guy to check the rear main seal and make sure its fixed now.
