I recently found out that a company called HTC Taiwan has apparently designed close to every current Pocket PC, including:

Axim x50/51,
Ipaq HX4700, and many other Ipaqs (including the 3600),
Loox 700,
Treo 700w
Imate Jam,
XDA, XDA II, and loads of other T-mobile/O2 devices, MDAs etc, Virtually every Windows Mobile Phone Edition based smartphone, and other pdas...

That is such a surprise... How can you compare pdas with similar specs (e.g. x50v and hx4700) if they come from the same company?

There are a few other companies who make them as well....
... but how does that stop you comparing them

I'm sorry, after being a Palm user for 3 years I have to say Palm can suck my myriad of derogatory statements. And you'll find that there are like 4 or 5 major Tiwanese electronic manufacturers that basically make everything for all major computer companies.

Thats Treo 700w*, not 670.

HTC also makes other Palm devices.

HP started making their own after having HTC for a while. HP did a terrible job on their own. HTC was much better.

After reading these posts about HTC, I started to wonder.....what would it really take for America to make its own PDAs and do high quality workmanship like this country used to do so much...? Is it really not possible here any more????? We have among the most educated innovative people in the world here too.....so why must we rely on Taiwan?????
