BTW, Macs have a problem with Safari and IE for Mac in that they render web pages slowly, so that is why it may seem like they are slower on the internet, but in reality they are just as fast at downloading/transfering files and such.
I even talked to the lead tech at the Apple Store (when my uncle was buying another Macbook for himself) and the tech said that for some reason the rendering is slower for web pages no matter what you do, he recommended using Firefox to speed page load times up if you are using a Mac OSX system.
I've got 100Mbit download and 10Mbit upload. :approve:
where do you live? i know that you can get that in sweeden but i havent heard of it anywhere else. i have 5down 3up dowever my dad says that we might be switching. im just hoping that it will be to charters new 10down services..
Yep. Sweden. Will lose it in august, though. :(
Probably only 10-24 Mbit download and about 1Mbit upload (pretty standard via adsl/vdsl in Sweden) then.

that sucks. i feel for you. a fw weeks ago when the power went out for 2 dys i had to use ye ol' 56k and it was terrbile expecting pages to load almost instantaniuse..
I dont feel sorry for any of you, I live on the outskirts of town, pay way to much, and I am limited to a 512/128 plan....that i pay way too much for (as much as the 1.5/256 plan if i lived in closer to town).
It sucks, but then again it is much better than dial up, and I can play games online unlike with sat internet, so then i do not complain as much :)
Also, a few 30 miles north of me, they are in a Verizon testing area and can get fiber for cheaper than what i pay :o

You can get it anywhere as long as you pony up the cash. Developments where they've done FTTC (Fibre to the Curb) have made it considerably cheaper in many areas.
