For me the amount of hoops you have to jump through (being a legal user) is getting annoying. Before you know it, you'll have to have your computer online to even bootup ... that way it can contact Microsoft for authentication/permission to continue the load process.
I entered a long keycode to install the OS, then I had to validate that when the installation completed. I think that should be enough, especially when they can flag the code if it has been installed on too many systems.

The WGAVT installs a plugin the first time. Why does it have to take you through the validation process after the plugin has been installed? I would think that it would detect and read the plugin, and bypass the authentication process.
Back to topic . . . Defender is a great app, been using it for a few days now.
