Cool gadget - fm modulator and USB port

While fm modulators typically suck, sometimes it is the only solution (I use a cassette adapter), this one seems kind of cool, as it has a USB port so you can plug in any thumb drive to play mp3s from it. It also has a line in for other sources (axim)

Not bad for $30.00

I also have that (2 in fact). Bought it at Costco for $19. I use it with my Zen. I use the USB as a battery source and then plug the audio cable in to feed the modulator.

You know I wanted this, but I already have an in-dash Pioneer Premier Series MP3 Player...it's the jam!

I just picked up the VRMF8 for a little under $30.00 at BJs yesterday. Works pretty well, too.

Well, for me I had no choice. No cassette player in my car.

In general, I think the cassette adapters sound better than the typical FM transmitters. But, the transmitters have some cool features. For instance, plugging in a USB flash drive with MP3s or WMA audio files and it will recognize and play them like an MP3 player. (Along with some stopping/next song, etc. buttons on the device.)

I had a belkin's and irock model and they were basically pieces of crapola. I just dont want to invest another 30 bucks if its no better. The cassette adapters are better but its kind of an ugly setup i guess. This think looks better.

belkin's transmitter was not very good at all, I have heard lots of people saying that it was really horrible.

I use the CCrane one (a bit overkill) and it sounds better than the cassette adapter i have (a sony one). Also, the Griffin models for the iPods sound very good as well.

There are cheaper models, but there are some good ones out there as well that work well:approve:

I am not spamming and it does not really effect me as I have no affiliation with CCrane, but here is the link to my review on the CCrane:

It is quite amazing, plus the range is unbelivable (50+ ft.)
