Sleep I just overdrew my checking account.

Title says it all

What a way to start my day...this should be with my "Poor Students" thread.

Not to worry - it happens to most of use when we are starting out - just try not to take the overdraft for granted

I remember once, back when I was getting started - I wrote a $10 check for some groceries. The bank bounced it THREE TIMES before I could get my paycheck into the account, to the tune of $9 each bounce for a total of $27 bank charges against a $10 check!

Sheesh ... the bad old days.

I did that a lot, but I learned how to avoid it with SPB Finance.
I was never a money person, but with my Axim, I learned to manage my checkbook.

My wife and I have seperate checking accounts at the same bank. Due to the miracle of online banking I was able to spot a potential overdraft on her account and transfer money from mine to cover it before getting socked with check fee...

...only to find the next day that she had also written a check on my account (since her balance was low) and forgot to tell me about it. It bounced.

That really sucks! Honestly, I can't sympathize with you because I have never overdrawn my account but I can imagine that it isn't very pleasant. Sorry.

I'm turing 22 next week, and have never overdrew my account.

Most people I know have done it atleast once. Just don't make a habit of it.
