Imap in Outlook

I've been trying to organize all of my mail and all of my mail addresses. I forwarded all of my other addresses to one and i'm using imap for the first time on it. So i got a couple different webmail applications to access it while im out. Then on my pc i am trying to use outlook. Outlook can't be this stupid when dealing with imap. When i want to delete something, i want it to go to the trash, not have a line put through it and then have to "purge" it to get rid of it. When i move something to a different folder, i want that message to be moved to a different folder, i don't want that message copied to the folder, and then have a line put through the old message. No webmail, or any other mail application i have used, such as thunderbird, does this. Why does outlook do this? There has got to be a setting somewhere to make outlook act normal.

No idea, but try outlook express if comparing to thunderbird, thunderbird is more like Express than Outlook
