Actually ... there aren't many. The forum is pretty lax. But randomly someone like yourself comes in with rants (troll) and gets some flack from the regulars.

Known problem. Most USB ports on current systems do not provide the level of power that the unit requires to operate and run sync activities at the same time. It's pretty much a one or the other type of thing with a travel cable. My Belkin cable is the same way.

A quick search of the forums could have saved you 80 bucks. A quick question asked would have netted the same results.

-- Most OS issues were solved by a simple tweak ... Disable automatic syncing. 2 minute fix. Again a search of the forums would have netted you the problem resolution. The OS is excellent, the implementation by Dell needed a couple of fixes. Also, be careful using software not compatible with WM5 since as the OS changes some things break.

Oh yeah I was on a huge rant and I'll still burned about this. I feel like I ate close to 500 and made a big mess in the sh**er.

Tell you what. Try the fake server trick (search the forum)... you now have the information about the charging/syncing issue... with this new found information give the unit a try again with an open mind. If you still feel like you dumped $500 down the toilet - send it back to Dell. You have 30 days from the date of purchase to return it...
