Aximsitex3icon $1,000,000 budget for room

Okay, I have to come up with the ultimate bedroom for a class project. I have a budget of one million dollars. What are some cool things people would want? As fantastical as you like, the only stipulation is that it must be technology that is currently available...something that, had I the money, I would be able to actually get. I have to have a basic idea by monday, may 1, so get some feed back going!!

This thing looks like a must - lots of Sun / NIX processing power and that all-important refreshment ability for when you're a bit parched:

Like abf a power outlit every .5 feet and backup generators so when power goes out, you wont be deprived of PC's, Digital picture frames and a wormhole effect light on the celling. I could think of more but no time.

does the room include a bathroom? if so build a jungle tropical waterfall. then you would wake up in paradise everyday. now to the room.

this tech is available, the walls that is either a screen(like lcd) or a backing(forgot the name but for projectors). so you could change the wall color, have the walls changed to the sky, deep in the ocean, in the woods,.....

I don't know if this would be allowed but cut a square in one of the walls and in that void put a taco bell in there. so you could have a wall up taco bell(like a drive thru)

of course have one wall dedicated to plasma tvs connected to multiple computers.

Have a really really really big closet to have a lady friend there, and make sure it locks from the outside and not the inside(lol)

and ummm...... yeah I beleive that covers all the basic human needs

I think he's talking about a compressor for cooling computer equipment. (e.g the one (black can) in the following link: http://www.xtremesystems.org/forums/...ad.php?t=97558 )
That is, unless he has some other type of hobby that makes use of a compressor.

As for what I'll want, I'll put in some nice PCs, a high end SMD rework station, a large electronics workbench with lots of high end test equipment, LED lights, a 100" direct view LCD monitor (or several!), a very advanced UPS with days worth of battery runtime and propane for extended runtime, and some high end network equipment to tie the whole design together. Oh, and should I mention that it would be all solar powered?

Ditto on the previous "huge closet" suggestion -- lined with cedar and all sorts of pull-out drawers, shelves, etc. Even guys gotta wear something.

Then, how bout ....
--a big ol hottub/jacuzzi
--air hockey table
--some theater-style seats for that big ol' flatscreen I know you're gonna put in there
--a kitchen/bar area with ... I dunno ... microwave, movie corn popper, beer/soda on tap, espresso maker and a "smart" fridge
--Xbox/Playstation/whatever
--a safe for all your bling, passport, checkbook, etc
--everything set on timers, etc, so your coffee is ready when you get up, the electric blanket has everything warm at bedtime, the blinds close when it gets dark, etc.
--be green -- solar panels for heat, hot water, to run your gadgets ...
--radiant floor heating to keep your footsies warm on cold mornings
--a big balcony, maybe with a BBQ, telescope, etc.

And, while it isn't high tech, if you're spending a million on your bedroom, make sure you get nice bedding -- 600 thread count sheets, cashmere blankets, down featherbed, etc.

a million dollars is a little rediculous for a bedroom,
can you expand this project?
I'd do something with the living room, or kitchen, you could do a lot to those rooms with even $100,000.
If not, I'd knock out some walls and make the bedroom about 1000 to 2000 sq ft to start.
now that you have room to work with that is more in line with the budget, see the above ideas, like the wall screens (I've seen that somewhere too), in room bathroom and I like the waterfall idea, computers and networks and gaming systems and theater quality surround sound, you could add a gym, even some collections of things you like (I'd do with some rare books in really nice display cases).

Maybe its used for his dolls Sorry ABF I just had to!!!!

Back to topic.

I'd cover the ceiling with LCD or Plasma panels so that you could have them displaying the sky. So you could go to sleep with the stars above your head and wake up to a lovely beautiful sunrise.

How about lining the walls with tax-deductible receipts from 90 non-profit charities that each received $1,000 in donations?

With the other $50,000 you could buy the sweet computer system, LCD monitor(s) and panel the rest of the room in Axim X50v's bricked due to WM5!

Edit: I meant 950 non-profit charities!
