Yep something like that thread - but I actually found it on a mobile phone forum whilst investigating what phone to get next - but you are right yours is basically the same

figuring out why my Axim keeps trying to sync even though I have used the fake server trick... oh, and sleeping since I'm sick, got less than 4 hour of sleep yesterday and have to get up at the butt-crack of dawn tomorrow for work...
