I looked at Act! when I got my 50v almost a year ago. Basically got a No Joy! decision on using it. I really need the ability to sync with my 50v for multiple accounts. Not only do I need it for my teaching (keeping track of student parent contacts), but for two businesses, AND for my military obligations. Will Act! do such a thing?

Can I update on my PPC and have the changes go back to the desktop?

Seems like a dumb question, but the more I use my PPC, I keep finding myself wishing I had stayed P**m. So many limitations on this side...

Thanks
David

How to work with u3 Flash drive?

I have used ACT! since I had a 486 computer and currently still use ACT!2000.

I just got a 2 Gig San Disk u3 flash drive which opens like a CD in my desktop.

I have been trying to load my ACT! program from the program disk into the u3 flash drive but no go.

Any suggestions?

Thanks!

A question about ACT -- having issues with my X51v -- Can I synch the Calendar and the Contacts with SOME part of my axim?

Uggg, so frustrated.

X51v / Act 8.02

Can't even hotsynch right now because PPCLink only works with Hotsynch versions up to 3.8...

Holy cow! This thread just keeps growing and growing! Fling Hills, there are a few ways. Before I answer you, let me tell you that I haven't found a way I feel comfortable with and hopefully someone else will better answer this question. I type up notes into pocket word and put them into my pc version of Act later. Or I enter quick notes into Phatpad.

You can probably use Act link to enter info, if I remember correctly, by entering some kind of code to let it know you are entering notes. Or there are other 3rd party programs if I'm incorrect, that will let you do that. However, none of them are as easy to use as I would like, so I use word. Check out Companion Link for one. Off the top of my head I cannot remember the others.

Welcome to the Act users club!

the actlink syncs notes just fine .... You can choose how many notes you want to sync per contact, up to 20 each I think. Just enter notes in act on the desktop or in the contact notes on the ppc and they sync either way.

I prefer to use the desktop and sync to ppc,. I keep a history of notes and activities for all my clients with me at all times. :approve:

Stevenator and RobMan

Thanks for the site. I'm a looooooooong time Act user presently with version 6.0

I see no reason to change as I'm really happy with it's capabilities.

I had used TransAct on my X5 but it will not work with the X51v. Tonight I tried to download Act Link from the Sage website but it is not listed for Act 6.0.

HELP!

I see where Sage no longer supports this version, is there anywhere else I can download this supposedly free software?

Thanks again

TR

It should be on your Act 6 disc.

My Act 6 disk contains only Act Link 2.0 to Palm OS. Any other options you can think of.

Thanks for your help.

Does actlink have a conflict with activesync? I've been using outlook by default and would rather go back to act.

ActLink vs Companion Link

Stevenator,

I downloaded a demo copy of Companion Link, is ActLink similar to that? i.e. does it download the Act contact into the resident contact manager?

Also, have you located an extra copy of the Act Link software?

Thanks again

Ron

I totally forgot, I was sick last week and didn't go to work. Companion Link is exactly the same as Act Link, just more robust.

Stevenator,

Sorry you had the crud, we have some upper respiratory stuff making the rounds.

I can live with the Companion Link if you don't have the actlink disk.

As I mentioned, I'm a former TransAct user. I really like that interface.
