Question How Do I view pictures(.jpg) in a html document after being created on a laptop

Hi all,

I have created a series of HTML pages, with links to other pages that I can refer to at work, using explorer on the PDA. It allows quick reference and linkability to many pages easily.

However when I create and edit the pages, that work fine as text only, and add in a .jpg image (ie photo) the image comes up as a blank box with a red cross in the corner. It views fine on a laptop, but not on the PDA.
I suspect it is to do with converting the file as it goes across active sync?

The same photo can be viewed on the PDA as a stand alone file, but not as part of a HTM page.
The same explorer (on the PDA) can view a full web page with images when viewing online......

Any help is appreciated

Thanks in advance!!

make sure that your links to the pictures are relative links and not absolute.

a realative address would be something like

\pics\jpg1.jpg

a absolute one would be

C:\website\pics\jpg1.jpg

It does sound like you are using absolute links not relative.

Thanks for the help,
I am using a jpg saved one under the other in a web page as htm. So I think it is absolute. But, it has made me think that when I cut and paste the image it brought the location over from the original spot on the laptop and didn't actually physically move the image...... so then the PDA is not able to view this image as it really is only on the laptop as a link.
I would link to individual images except that I want to be able to look at several images one after the other without going back and forward all the time.

Could this be correct? That the image needs to be avail as an image file on the PDA as it is only LINKED within the html page?

Thanks for the help so far!
