Well of course they have. They've learned from us that if you actually HAVE banned weapons, ala North Korea, you're perfectly safe, whereas if you more or less complied with the UN mandates then you get invaded. No wonder the Iranians want the bomb so badly.

Less complied, denying access to UN inspectors. Good thing the UN continued to threaten Iraq with increasingly frantic-toned threats, it did a lot of good to force Iraq to comply. Incidentally, with the UN and the rest of the world convinced that he had WMD still and lots of them, they were no longer necessary and stealing for the food-for-oil program couldn't support both WMD and Saddam's bitchin' new palaces (what's the count up to, like 900 something?). So something had to be sacrificed. He's still convinced that he will beat the rap and take his country back. It was a contingency.
And yeah, No. Korea really needs to be prevented from that kind of weapon research. I still can't believe Kim Jong-Il doesn't realize the only reason he would need such weapons is if he owns such weapons and acts like a crazy dictator. Which he would never do, of course.

I'm just sayin'....
