Flash it! I've been a little bit chicken to flash the newest firm into my WL-HDD, but I probably should for the review. I managed to crash partition1 on the drive, so I will likely have to backup and reformat. Darn it. I had a backup for my 1GB SD on there, and managed crash the SD by using wayyyy too much beta-ware on it. Gotta figure out if I can recover the partition and then restore the SD backup. Maybe I could get a 2.5" - 3.5" HDD adapter, but I think the disk format is Linux, and I don't have any systems running that.

if it's in ext3 or ext2 there's a driver for windows that will allow you to read off it. it's called something lik ext2fs or something.

I have a NSLU2. Recently flashed it with Unslung 6.8b, added Slimserver (streaming) and on the fly edited smb.conf with the spnego setting. Some work but worth the while. Take a look at www.nslu2-linux.org I am a real linux noob but succeeded in the above.
