Are Marines trained killing women and children cold blooded...

or do they practice this in their spare time?

Shame on you, America, where all the brave and free have vanished.

That is just a few marines, by no means the entire united states marine corp. This is being investigated and if it turns out to be true, they will be punished, there has been talk of the death penalty. But i can say this, i am honored to say that i have several friends that hold the title of United States Marines, and i can say that above all else they hold honor and compassion as one of there corp values.

Nope, not trained to, this was pure stupidity. Revenge, plain and simple. Too bad people with so little brains are toting guns and wearing the emblem of my nation. One can only assume this sort of action would increase the occurrence of resurgent attacks on American forces. Not good for the interests of anybody involved.

I was getting to it... But I didn't want to post it on top of memorial day.

Quite frankly, the whole issue is of a few bad guys and a bunch of cover up. Where a few bad people ruin the image of 300,000 US military service members. and Sam wants to apply it to the 20 million US Citizens.

Be that as it may, The people involved will be prosecuted, just as the ones in Abu Gharib were. The article states that the Death Penalty may apply.

I was sure you were... it's just that you also missed the amnesty and red cross reports about guantanemo... crooked Republicans (although you do find the stories about the democrats) , and threats to reducing human rights.. so I was worried that this may fall into that gap. I would hate for people to think that you only posted threads that suited your politcal agenda.

I've posted plenty about the republicans... and I assume you mean the illegal anmesty? I didn't start a thread on that, but I posted to an existing one here.

I have very little concern about "Club Gitmo", especially as it has better facilities than the average prison in the US. And I have posted about it in the past when it was 'worthy' a bunch of people getting media attention for a self imposed hunger strike?? who cares.

Sorry... I've been looking back and can't seem to find any threads started by you that are critical of the republican party.. although I can find many that are critical of the left... and all of the threads you seem to start seem to take the Bush line on foreign policy... Not that I object to that it's just that there is a clear line of bias in the topics that you choose to start threads about. It would seem that the Red Cross report on X-ray.. Fraud by republicans... holding your country to the values of international law and freedom it promotes throughout the world, conflicts of interest in your government, the erosian of Human rights etc are seen as either being newsworthy or topics worthy of discussion..

As long as polictical threads are legal on aximsite then keep going if you really want, but I'd hate it if you just used it as an excuse for you to push an agenda... (which I am sure you'd never do )

If these marines are found guilty of the crimes attributed to them, they will be punished. However, this "shame" does not extend to every service-man and service-woman or to every American. The vast portion of our miltary (my own son included) are courageous, honorable, self-sacrificing Americans.

What I consider a "shame" is that there are still terrorists in Iraq who EVERY DAY blow up their own people and 2000 plus Americans. Is that also a shame Saminegm?

All Americans should not be judged by the actions of a few marines, anymore than all those on the Aximsite should be judged by the occasional strange comments made by some individuals in their posts.

Absolutely.. The Iraqi guy who put together the film said something similar, (although he didn't mention aximsite).. He said he wasn't against the US.. He wasn't looking for someone to blame, what he wanted was for the US to abide by the standards of justice that it was promoting in Iraq.

You get criminals everywhere... It's just a shame that it looked like the Armed Forces tried to cover it up at first, instead of investigating and bringing any guilty parties to justice.

The investigation in the words of an american senator who i've just seen on the news 'Should have been over 2 or 3 weeks after the incident...' instead of hding it until Time Magazine flagged it up.

I hate Political\Religious threads, but to condemn our Military for the actions of a few is just sickening, It seems a certain person loves to create U.S. bashing or hatred on this site...Some people would rather live under Tyrants then be Free, we should just let them live their miserable lives that way!!!

If more men and women RAISED their children and were ACTIVE in their lives...not dropping them at this or that practice/game/etc...many things would be different in this great United States. Laws need to be upheld. Crimes have punishments which should be carried out. People should hold themselves accountable, as we all will be one day...like it or not. War is hell. I pray for them all.

Mods should close this thread. This site is really not for topics like this.
I'm not even going to argue with anyone, just close this thread mods.

Of course they don't. Here ... let's play a game called pick out the "non-Combatants".

Go to google images ... and do a search for "insurgent". While you're there doing that, try to keep track of how many AK-47's and Rocket Launchers you can count. Then try to remember that the US Soldiers DO NOT carry AK-47's (or rocket launchers) as standard issue weapons. If the Iraqi's were all sitting back and allowing their country to be put back in control of Iraqi leadership you shouldn't be able to find a single picture of a person with an AK in their hand. If the US soldiers were not being attacked, we would not still be there. Iraq has a new leadership ... they need to accept that and allow it to do its job. Until they stop attacking each other and us, we can't leave ... lest there be a civil war. THE UNITED STATES CITIZENS WANT OUT OF IRAQ. The soildiers do too.

Quite the damming article. If it is true ... and the circumstances are as they state, then they deserve to be punished. BUT - none of us were there. We DO NOT know exactly what happened, we didn't participate, so we CAN NOT say they did or did not murder those people. You and I have absolutely no idea what happened when they began retaliating for the bombing of their vehicle. Let's not forget ... They were attacked first --- FTA:
Quote:
But as the taxi halted near the first humvee, a bomb under the fourth humvee exploded, killing its driver--Lance Corporal Miguel (T.J.) Terrazas, 20, of El Paso, Texas--wounding two of his comrades and shattering windows 150 yards away.
They did not start this, so let's not pretend that everyone but the US soldiers are "innocent".

No ... shame on the people who participated in that action. 295 Million Americans did not participate in that action. If all 295 Million Americans felt &/or acted like that, there would be 26 Million less Iraqi's ... and since there isn't 26 Million less Iraqi's ... I don't think you can lump all Americans into your little speech.

Let's modify your speech ---

"Wow ... Have you folks seen this? This is disgusting!!! What would make someone want to act like this?? I feel sorry for those poor people and the pain their families have been caused!"
