U.S. troops used appropriate force in Iraqi raid

Officials say U.S. troops used appropriate force in Iraqi raid
BY DREW BROWN
Knight Ridder Newspapers

WASHINGTON - U.S. military investigators have concluded that there's no credible evidence to back up claims that U.S. troops killed as many as 13 Iraqi civilians during a raid on a suspected al-Qaida hideout in March, military officials said Friday.

Maj. Gen. William Caldwell IV, spokesman for Multi-National Force-Iraq, said in a statement issued from Baghdad that U.S. forces killed one suspected terrorist and captured another during the March 15 raid in the village of Ishaqi, about 60 miles north of Baghdad.

Allegations that U.S. forces executed a family during the raid, then covered it up by directing an airstrike on their house "are absolutely false," Caldwell said.

After the raid, Iraqi police accused U.S. troops of herding at least 11 people into the house and executing them.

"The investigation revealed the ground force commander, while capturing and killing terrorists, operated in accordance with the rules of engagement governing our combat forces in Iraq," Caldwell said.

I am really getting sick of the media and a predictable group of elected government emloyees jumping on our soldiers at the first hint of any misconduct. These guys were tried and convicted by these a-holes before any investigation or fact finding had been completed.

If one of your Senators or Congressmen did this, they deserve a scathing andmonition via letter.

President Bush really was no help on this one. Instead of coming to the soldiers defense and asking everyone to please wait till the facts are in before rushing to judgement, he just said if there is any wrong doing, the perpetrators will be punished. This only encouraged the jackals.

Now you blaming jackals? I say dolphins! Dolphins are to blame! I sick of those dolphins, always getting in my way, and the sounds are horrible. I think all the free nations should stand up against those cold-blooded killers. We should stop their tyranny!

I'm with you on the dolphins thing... never trust a species that giggles (they're up to something)

And the way they go around beating up porpoises....

And don't forget the Camels. How can you trust a creature that doesn't drink? Something's fishy

Don't get me started on the cows, they are already depleating the ozone layer. I would post the link but the moderator says I am not allowed.

They are definitely building an army. I guess when they hae the air the land and the sea, they will procede to building WMD's . Do you think the cows are responsible? They already have land mines, they might elaborate those.

Everything should be waxed. When's the last time you waxed your camel? Waxing everything could change how the dolpins, camels and cows perceive each other.
