So as Lazyart said, sums of 9... those are the only numbers they need to have the same image on... they just change the image on those same numbers.. when you play it again

Take a number, add the next number (i.e. if you chose 3 add 4), add 9 to that, divide total by two, subtract original number. Your new number is ... 5!
Point is, there are a lot of stupid math "tricks" like this.

Why do I keep getting NINEs?
This game uses a characteristic easy to describe:
The selection of the two digit number takes the general form,
10a + b, where a is the tens' place digit value, and b is the ones' place.
When you do the subtraction, the expression becomes:
10a + b - (a + b) = 10a - a + b - b = 9a
Since 10a - a = 9a and b - b = 0
This is why the game always generates multiples of 9. And as another poster observed, all of the multiples of 9 on the page full of glyphs bear the identical token.
